Salina Art Center brings Exhibition on Screen to the Art Center Cinema for guests to watch the film or participate in a full experience that includes view the featured documentary, followed by a lunch and guided art workshop provided at the Warehouse Education Studio. John Singer Sargent: Fashion and Swagger Workshop
with Sam and Austin Beiberly
Join us after the movie for a demo in the oil-painting techniques of John Singer Sargent. Our goal is to study his masterful use of form and temperature when rendering fabric. Provided materials for copying his artistic style, you will be able to create your own rendition of a John Singer Sargent painting.

This film gives voice to those who work at the gallery – from cleaner to curator, security guard to director – who identify the one artwork that means the most to them and why. An assortment of people from all walks of life who have a strong connection to the gallery make surprising choices of both well-known and lesser-known artworks. Finally, some well-known celebrities explain what they head for when they visit the gallery.
