SALINA, KANSAS - The Salina Art Center invites producer Ariana Garfinkel to present her 2011 Tribeca Film release Boys of Summer, a featured documentary about Little League®  baseball on the tiny island of Curaçao. The film has screened and won awards at film festivals worldwide and was released by Tribeca Film and broadcast on ESPN and Sundance Channel internationally. Though at its core, Boys of Summer is a film about baseball as a universally beloved pastime, the film is also about much more. It’s about children carrying the privilege and burden of a nation’s pride. It’s about athletes competing at the highest level and having the time of their lives. And it’s about the unexpected camaraderie that develops between these boys as they do what they love.

Ariana Garfinkel is an independent film producer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Over the past twelve years, she has held positions at Miramax Films, Tribeca Productions, and Reno Productions in New York City, along with roles on films for HBO and Columbia Pictures. She served as Associate Producer on the award-winning 2008 documentary Trumbo and the multi-film environmental project Symphony of the Soil and is a Co-Producer of a new short film titled Sea Meadow.
