Salina Art Center presents visiting Icelandic artist Hildur Bjarnadóttir

In conjunction with the current exhibition A Changing Fabric, the Salina Art Center will host exhibition artist Hildur Bjarnadóttir as a week-long visiting artist from October 17 through October 21. While in Salina, Bjarnadóttir will participate in a series of community activities including:

  • studio visits with local artists and textile groups
  • classroom visits with middle school and university students
  • a Saturday children’s workshop at the Art Center (grades 4th-5th)
  • Artist at Work, a new program for local artists and community members

Artist at Work: Hildur Bjarnadóttir is a two-part program for local artists, and Art Center and community members which features a presentation by Bjarnadóttir on her artwork and evolution as an artist, followed by a moderated discussion with the audience and artist on professional development topics and artistic practice. This will be followed by a public reception. This program will be held on Thursday, October 19 from 5:30-7:30pm at the Art Center Cinema and is FREE and open to the public.
