Gerry Neustrom Young Artist Challenge
The Gerry Neustrom Young Artist Challenge is an annual exhibition held each spring at Salina’s Central Mall. This memorial competition, coordinated by the Salina Art Center, is supported by Gerry Neustrom’s family to honor her interest in encouraging and recognizing aspiring young artists. High school students in central and northwest Kansas are invited to submit artworks created during the school year. Each year, a regional art professional is asked to serve as the juror for the exhibition. An awards ceremony is held at the conclusion of the exhibition honoring the participating students.
