Family Open Houses Each of these two-hour events features art-making activities designed to be visually and cognitively stimulating and to serve as a resource for adults who seek developmentally appropriate learning processes for the children in their care.

Though originally conceived as an introductory opportunity for audiences new to SAC, Open Houses have become a beloved community tradition, eagerly attended by many who have participated before.

The fall Open House includes pumpkin carving and decoration on the Art Center’s back patio, with plenty of indoor activities that contribute to autumn fun.

The winter session is presented in conjunction with the Salina Downtown Festival of Lights celebration.

The spring event is held in conjunction with Week of the Young Child activities coordinated by a coalition of early education and child care providers in the Salina community. An infant exploration center provides safe play for babies and toddlers, with homemade toys created from everyday household materials.
