YOU make the art! Do you dream of being an artist? Want to see your work on the wall of the Salina Art Center? Here’s your chance! YOU are the star in this fully interactive exhibition, where you’ll collaborate with artists in the creation of an artwork by way of the artists’ printed instructions and images. The components of each of the twenty-nine artworks have been printed on one to four sheets of paper, which are stacked in individual piles in the gallery. You can select a project and assemble it into a three-dimensional sculpture, then display it in the gallery as part of the exhibition. The Paper Sculpture Show is organized by Cabinet magazine, Independent Curators International (ICI), and SculptureCenter. The curators are Mary Ceruti, Matt Freedman and Sina Najafi, and it is accompanied by The Paper Sculpture Book, which contains the entire exhibition in unassembled, take-home form. The traveling exhibition is circulated by Independent Curators International (ICI).
