Artifacts of everyday life are given extraordinary meaning in my work. The materials express subtle tactile qualities of human history and make common objects take on a sense of the sacred. Nostalgic sentiments emanate from the textures of worn cloth, Japanese papers, found objects and written text. These materials become precious links with those who have handled them.
The work is process driven. The hunting, searching, and interacting with each element in the piece creates a special language between the artist and the form.
